Writing: Joel’s opinion-editorials have appeared in the newspapers such as the Atlanta Journal, Miami Herald, and Washington Post Times. He placed fourth in the 2003 HarperCollins Publishers C.S. Lewis Essay contest. He ranked runner up in the 2001 Acton Institute for Study of Religion and Liberty contest, writing On Religion, Duty, and Liberty. He has written dozens of articles for the Covenant Seminary magazine. Currently, he self publishes with the Associated Content and at his blog, NewBlogInklings. More than a writer, Joel has engaged in creative projects ranging from branding development to commercials.

Certification: Certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Joel regularly consults with churches seeking well-suited pastors for open positions, as well with pastors seeking a well-suited place of service. byFaith Online has recently published articles on church hiring practices, as well several other works. To date, Joel has administered the MBTI for 15 people and consulted with over 50 churches. These consultations involve extensive research and analysis, such as presented here. The MBTI is a metric for identifying personal peferences in areas of relationship, leadership style, communication style, and where you find your energy.
